Drivers Age
The minimum driver’s age is 21 years and the maximum driver’s age is 65 years.
A Young driver fee of $25 per day for drivers aged 21 to 29 years old.
Driver’s License
The driver must present a full and valid driving license with no major endorsements and at least 1 year of driving experience. Licenses from any country are accepted, regardless of alphabet.
A valid passport and driver’s license must be presented at the time of vehicle pick-up
Only the main driver and registered additional drivers are allowed to operate the vehicle. Additional drivers must be present at pick-up with a valid driver’s license and passport, and a surcharge of $9.99 per day applies per additional driver.
Insurance Coverage
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
It is included in your rental amount.
Collision damage waiver reduces the customer’s damage responsibility to the excess of up to the deposit amount $500.
Theft Waiver (THW)
It is included in your rental amount.
It reduces the client's financial responsibility for loss or theft of the vehicle to 10% of the vehicle’s value and value of vehicle will be determined at the time of incident by insurance company.
Third Party Liability
It is included in your rental amount.
Third Party Liability with a maximum cover up to US$40,000.
Excess Reduction
Additional insurance options are available.
A full insurance package (SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver) with zero excess is available at the rental desk starting from 25 USD per day, depending on the vehicle category.
Third-party insurance from U.S. and Canadian providers is accepted only if linked to an American Express card. If using credit card insurance, coverage must be a minimum of US$500.
Please Note:
1. A valid Police report is mandatory, in case of an incident/ accident / damage or theft. The customer must immediately inform the rental desk about the incident.
2. Any damage due to driver negligence or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any other controlled substances is not covered by insurance.
3. Insurance SCDW doesn’t cover Windows and mirrors, wheels and tire, undercarriage, engine, the car’s interior, personal belongings, lost keys, extras such as GPS or child seats.
Other fee:
Airport fee is included in the rental price.
1. If the vehicle keys are lost or stolen, a fee of $250 will apply.
2. You are responsible for the cost of any parking fines, tolls and any other penalties plus a $50 administration fee.
3. In case of loss of original vehicle documents, a fee of $100 will apply.
4. In case of wrong fuel, a fee of $150 will apply.
5. If car is returned dirty, a charge of $50 to $100 will apply depending on the level of cleaning required.
Smoking in the car is prohibited, and if the customer smoke in the car a fee of $50 will apply.
Breakdown Assistance
Breakdown assistance is available 24/7 free of charge. If assistance is required due to customers fault additional charge will apply depending on the situation. Relevant contact details and roadside assistance procedures will be given prior to the commencement of the hire.
Fuel Policy
Full-to-full. The client must return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel provided at the time of checkout. If the fuel tank is not returned at the same level, a fee of $5 per liter will apply.
Mileage Policy
Unlimited Mileage.
Cross Border Travel
Cross-border travel is permitted only with prior approval.
Authorized countries include Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Honduras.
Additional charges apply and must be confirmed in advance with customer service.
Charges vary from 50 to 200 USD.
VAT
VAT is included in the rental price.
Payment Methods
All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and debit cards are accepted for rental payments. Cash and online payments are also accepted. Debit cards cannot be used for the deposit.
Deposit
A refundable deposit of US$500 is required on a credit card at the time of pick-up. Drivers under the age of 29 must provide a US$1,000 deposit in cash.
Delivery and Collection
Delivery and collection services are available upon request and must be arranged in advance. Home delivery and hotel drop-offs within San Salvador are free of charge. For locations outside San Salvador, additional fees apply based on distance and zone. Vehicle return in another city or branch is allowed for a fee of US$35, or as determined by the distance, please confirm with customer service.
Out of Hours
Out of hours service is available. After 4pm till 6am a surcharge of $35 will be applied for both pickup and drop-off.
Grace Period
Pick-up: 1 hour grace period from the schedule time of pickup is allowed. If the customer comes to pick the vehicle after the grace period a US$20 charge applies and the car will be provided depending on availability. Otherwise, the booking will be considered as "No-show".
Return: 1 hour grace period is for returning vehicles. If the customer comes to return the vehicle after the grace period then additional one day charge will apply.
Extras
Confirmation of Special Equipment’s depends upon the availability at the rental desk.
